EV Olive Oil: unveiling its health and economic virtues for a sustainable future

On Monday, November 27th, the conference “EV Olive Oil: unveiling its health and economic virtues” was held at the European Parliament in Brussels, organized by Competere.

During the event, a significant study conducted by the Istituto Nutrizionale Carapelli, entitled “Beneficial Effects of Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Molecular Mechanisms,” was presented. This innovative research provides a comprehensive exploration, for the first time, of the molecular and cellular processes underlying the benefits of EV olive oil, particularly in relation to polyphenols.

Moreover, with the participation of industry experts and notable Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), the discussion emphasized the strategic role of olive oil consumption and the entire olive oil production chain. Concerns were addressed regarding the decline in production due to radical climate changes and current macroeconomic dynamics.
