Andrea Ghiselli

Andrea Ghiselli graduated in Medicine and Surgery, and specialized in Internal Medicine at University of Rome Sapienza. He began his research activity at the National Institute of Nutrition (CREA Center for Food and Nutrition Research). He has been a Research Director until March 2021. Currently retired. 

The main field of research has been, since the beginning, the study of the effects of diet on human health at the different stages of the life cycle, with particular regard to the dietary modulation of oxidative stress and non-communicable diesase. Professor of “Dietary sciences applied to macronutrients and functional compounds” for the first level degree course for DIETIAN at the University of Rome Sapienza.

Professor and Scientific Director of the Master in Food Science and dietetics at Unitelma Sapienza.

President of the Italian Society of Food Sciences and Nutrition  (SISA) and member of the Panel of Experts that produced the 2003 revision of the Italian Dietary Guidelines, as well as President of the Commission for the 2018 revision; member of the Editorial Board of LARN (Dietary Reference Intake Levels) 2014.
